The Jackson Brothers have formed their own group after years of touring
and recording with other artists. As active players on the New York Scene, the Jackson Brothers have developed distinctive voices
on their instruments and are ready to give you a double dose of their extraordinary talent.
Ed Jackson is an accomplished saxophonist. His wide range of styles is evident in the musicians he has worked and recorded with:
Roy Haynes, T.S.Monk, The Fatback Band, Bobby Watson, Illinois Jacquet, Weldon Irvine, The Count Basie Band, Donald Blackman,
Denzil Miller, Bernard Wright, Jaki Byard, Ran Blake, Sam Rivers, and Tom Varner. He is also the founder of the world renowned,
29th Street Saxophone Quartet, an internationally acclaimed group he extensively toured with. He is a graduate of the New England
Conservatory of Music and received the Selmer Company Award for Outstanding Saxophonist.
Bassist David Jackson is one of the most talented and sought after musicians today. His career has included work with such artists
as Sonny Rollins, Cab Calloway, Ruth Brown, Dorothy Donegan, Eartha Kitt, Billy Eckstine, Lionel Hampton, Lou Donaldson, Randy Weston,
Jaki Byard, Ahmad Jamal and Illinois Jacquet. He has also recorded with Kenny Burrell, Jimmy McGriff, Dakota Staton, Roy Haynes, Jimmy Witherspoon
and T.S.Monk. He has a Bachelors in Music from LIU and his Masters Degree was received from Columbia University. His solid bass notes provide an
important and complimentary foundation to the Jackson sound.
The Jackson Brothers' dynamic sound encompassess both the tradition and future of jazz. Their Versatility enables them to move easily about the
various styles of jazz while at the same time maintaining a unique sound and direction. On top of that, they're both very great soloists.
